Happier and More Confident at Home

At Interim HealthCare of Allentown, we know that as they get older, seniors will tell you that they want to stay at home rather than be confined to a nursing facility, rehabilitation center or hospital. That’s why we offer non-medical senior care & support in Berks, Lehigh and Northampton counties, that allows seniors to stay in their own homes with the independence and dignity that they deserve. After all, home is where the heart thrives and the place we feel most in control of our destiny.

Living in the comfort of your own home can make a huge difference to your quality of life, but sometimes independence needs a helping hand - which is where our personal care and support services come in! Interim HealthCare of Allentown works to fill the gaps in whatever way each patient needs, creating a whole-person, individualized plan that helps them lead a more empowered and enriched life. Our paraprofessionals and clinicians are trained, skilled, competent and personable. Committed to providing the best possible level of care, they will open the way for your loved one to lead a more joyous and engaged existence at home.

And for your family?

No more worrying about a loved one’s safety, about whether they’re eating right (or at all), or about whether they’re taking their medications on time. With our in-home services, we can provide the boost they need to be independent, safe and healthy.

Personal Care & Support Services in West Palm Beach

So What’s the Difference Between Personal Care and Support Services?

Personal care typically addresses activities of daily living, or ADLs, that are essential for independent living. This includes:

  • Personal hygiene (bathing, grooming and oral care)
  • Dressing
  • Eating
  • Toileting and continence
  • Transferring and mobility (standing, sitting, getting in and out of bed or the car)

Support services take care further, providing assistance with tasks such as:

  • Light housework
  • Laundry
  • Shopping
  • Transportation to the doctor’s (or the beauty salon)
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Writing letters or making appointments
  • Reminding Mom when to take her medications

Help for Family Caregivers

Spouses and adult children are usually the first to step in and help their loved one with certain tasks. You do it from the heart, but it can wear you down. At Interim HealthCare of Allentown, we provide priceless respite for caregivers – for a few hours, a day or long enough for you and your own family to take some time away. You can get your own chores done, or simply get some needed rest and recharge your inner strength to be your best self to the person who needs you most right now.

In-home respite caregivers can come in to handle all the tasks you’ve been performing as a caregiver, helping with a wide range of personal care and support tasks such as bathing and dressing, meal preparation, housekeeping, shopping or running errands, or taking your loved one to the doctor.
